Welcome, I’m Megan Patterson

I love helping people move from surviving to thriving!

As a trauma-informed therapist, I am always looking at how our past experiences have shaped who we are today.

As a mom with an ADHD brain, I understand the challenges of raising young humans in this chaos we call life.

As a survivor, therapy has helped me make peace with my past, and look forward to my future.

  • “I never thought I'd laugh this much in therapy."

  • "I can tell you believe me."

  • "I can be me and you don't make me feel crazy."

  • "I know you'll tell me like it is."

  • "You helped me understand how my brain works."

No shame in the brain

I’ve sometimes been called an “approachable nerd” because I get really excited about what our brains can do and their capacity heal.  Many times we can feel ashamed about our behaviors, emotions and experiences, when really they are often connected to what our brilliant brains have done to help protect us and survive. There’s no shame in that!

I believe that knowing how our own brain and nervous system works is key to helping us understand ourselves better.  This is one reason why I love EMDR therapy so much. It’s a way of supporting your brain in doing it’s own healing.

As a therapist with lived experience of late-diagnosed ADHD, I am particularly passionate about helping adult ADHDers work through the experiences of having a neurodivergent brain in a neurotypical world.

I’m committed to providing a neurodivergent friendly space in my own home, and just as committed to providing this space in my practice.
